Rub ‘N’ Tug present – Campfire

Campfire is New York party maverick’s Rub ‘N’ Tug’s decent into a raucous night out in Dante’s Disco Inferno. From Cozy Powell to Daniel Wang and Bronx Dog’s to the Chaplin Band this is the madness of New York’s after hours Loft party spirit rolled up with distortion, shouting, rock, funk and sweat dripping from the walls. Insanely fun and inventive, ‘Campfire’ follows recent cracking dance missions from Eskimo DJ’s in residence The Glimmers and Optimo’s Glaswegian tag team.
. Rub ‘N’ Tug are DJ’s Thomas and Eric Duncan. Born out of a common interest in disco, rock and booze their parties take place sporadically in strictly after hours venues insuring them and their friends that they can do as they please…loft's, galleries and bordello's it’s all about New York night life.
Thomas began DJing as a teenager in England with Tonka Hi-Fi. In '91 he visited California and joined the Wicked Crew in a decade of heavy big club storming. When he moved to NYC in '96 he formed the science-fiction punk dance outfit A.R.E Weapons who were 'discovered' by Jarvis Cocker before being signed to Rough Trade over in London. Eric came to New York from LA where he grew up absorbing all the magic of house parties and BBQ jams in the California sunshine. When he moved to NY in '96 this ‘Party Time!’ approach to night-life was nurtured playing all the sleaziest Lofts and Bars of down-town. The two of them met, clicked and got to it. They have a weekly party at Gavin Browns' Passerby called 'campFIRE' and this mix gives you a brief glimpse of the madness that is Rub ‘N’ Tug when the pair get behind the decks and cause complete havoc wherever they go.
From the piano led house break of Bumblebee Unlimited’s ‘Lady Bug’ to the cinematic beauty of Double Fantasy’s ‘Heartbreaker’ and the strutting disco of Flash and the Pan and Hot Chocolate, Rub ‘N’ Tug know how to have a party and they're at a disco near you!!!
